Combustion Chamber Haul from Wisconsin to Arizona
Adam Noah earned the coveted Monthly Featured Transport by shipping a combustion chamber from Wisconsin to Arizona.
What is a Combustion Chamber?
A combustion chamber is part of the rocket engine where fuel and oxidizer combine and burn to create thrust.
Adam immediately got to work handling every detail of this super load transport.
- Origin: Wisconsin
- Destination: Chandler, Arizona
- Total Miles: 1,801 miles
How To Transport a Combustion Chamber Super Load Safely and Legally
Because the combustion chamber weighs 105,000 lbs, it’s a super load in almost every state. So, Adam took the necessary steps to ensure the combustion chamber haul adhered to all DOT and safety regulations, including:
- • Pulling the proper permits for each state the super load would transport through.
- • Contracting two pilot cars with height poles (one forward, one rear).
- • Ensuring the driver had the proper credentials and experience to haul a super load.
He hired a crane crew to hoist the chamber onto an 8-axle RGN trailer. The crane held the chamber in place while the crews used chains to secure it at the trailer's tie-down points.
Once the crane removed their lines, Adam gave the all-clear for the driver to disembark on the journey from Wisconsin.

Delivering The Combustion Chamber to Chandler, Arizona
A super load always comes with transport challenges, and the combustion chamber transport was no different.
The combustion chamber was hauled through eight (8) states, each having its own super load regulation requirements. For instance, in Wisconsin:
- • No super load operation during hours of darkness
- • No super load operation between 3 PM and 8 PM on Sundays
- • No super load operation between noon on Saturday and sunrise on Sunday.
And that’s only a few.
Adam ensured the driver knew the regulations for each state and adhered to them. But, because of this, it took seven days from pick up to safely deliver the combustion chamber.
Adam prepared the client for this, and they knew what to expect and when the estimated delivery was.
The client was highly impressed and promised to call Adam for future transports.
Total Cost of Equipment: $500,000.00
