Preparing The King Air 100 Plane for Transport
Milos knows how to transport everything from standard equipment to oversize
loads.
Once the team removed the wings, the entire plane fit perfectly on a flatbed
trailer. This is another reason it’s best to remove the wings. A small plane can often
fit on one trailer and save costs. Milos chose the flatbed trailer based on the cargo's
dimensions, his client's needs, and the most optimal financial transport solution.
The plane was inoperable, but driving a plane onto a flatbed trailer is
challenging regardless. Instead, Milos called a forklift team to lift the King Air 100
Plane onto the trailer safely.
Milos directed the team on expertly securing the fuselage and wings to the
flatbed trailer. To stabilize the fuselage, the team secured curved areas on wooden
cradles. Ratchet straps were then used to secure the fuselage and wings to the tie
points on the flatbed trailer.
Once the team double and triple-checked the transport, Milos gave the okay
for the driver to start the drive.
Safely Delivering The King Air 100 Turboprop Aircraft
to Alaska
On average, it’s about a thirty-three-hour drive. Keeping with top safety
standards and DOT regulations, the driver stayed within standard driving hours. Milos
checked in with him regularly to ensure the driver and cargo were doing fine.
At Heavy Haulers, we prioritize safety and quality for every oversize load.
The driver picked up the load on time in Canada and delivered it five days
later to Alaska. The client was ecstatic that the load had gone so smoothly, and he had
another plane to restore for his collection.
