Transporting Steel Dinosaurs from California to Arkansas

Shipping a Steel Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and Spinosaurus On Three Separate Trailers
You have to admit, this is a pretty unique transport. How many times have you seen dinosaurs securely strapped to trailers cruising down the highway?
As cool as it looks, it takes experts to make sure these massive steel dinosaurs are transported safely.
The dinosaurs resided in a fenced area. Matteo contracted a rotator truck to hoist and rotate the steel artwork onto the designated trailers.
A rotator truck is a heavy-duty tow truck with a rotating boom—hence the name.
The steel dinosaurs were loaded onto the following trailer types:
- Tyrannosaurus Rex: 53’ Low Profile Step Deck Trailer
- Triceratops: 35’ Hotshot Trailer
- Spinosaurus: 35’ Low Profile Hotshot Trailer
The team secured the steel dinosaurs to each trailer using Mytee Ratchett Straps. Chains might have damaged, scratched, or dented the artwork. Matteo wanted the safest option possible, which meant straps.
Matteo oversaw every step of the loading process and ensured the team double-checked the tie-downs and secureness of each dinosaur before the drivers set off for Arkansas.
Safely Delivering The Prehistoric Oversize Dinosaurs to Arkansas
The oversize load convoy from Pinon Hills, California, to Arnan, Arkansas, traveled along route I40 E. The 1,463-mile transport departed from California on July 7th. The team adhered to time and state regulations, plus they often stopped to make sure the steel dinosaurs remained safely strapped down.
The dinosaurs held sentimental value to the customer, so Matteo made sure the team did everything in their power to provide a safe and quality transport service.
All three trucks arrived in Arkansas on July 11th. Matteo contracted an experienced wrecking crew to unload them from the trailers and place them exactly where the customer wanted them in her new yard.
Grateful that her new chapter in life started with a successful transport, the client promised to pass Matteo’s name on to anyone she knew who needed equipment (or dinosaur) shipping services.
