The Logistics and Transport of Tempering Furnaces
Industrial tempering furnaces are used by the manufacturing, aerospace and mining companies, as well as many others that have a need for heat-treating metal or glass. They can be customized for unique purposes or designed and fabricated in bulk, but regardless of their intended use, shipping them requires an experienced, knowledgeable team of loaders and drivers to ensure the expensive furnace a safe, uneventful journey to its final home. Heavy Haulers is licensed, bonded and insured to transport unwieldy and over-dimensional equipment/machinery like the tempering furnace. We use flatbed, drop decks and removable gooseneck (RGN) trailers to carry oversized heat-treatment furnaces over long distances. In addition, if your furnace is more than 8.5 feet wide or 11.5 feet tall, we will obtain the state and local permits required to transport your furnace legally on regulated roads.
Because tempering furnaces can vary widely in size, shipping them to clients across the city or from one state to another requires careful consideration. You might be able to save on shipping costs by using a flatbed or canister trailer for smaller furnaces, but industrial tempering/draw furnaces might better be secured using a specialized trailer and sturdy straps to keep the item from moving during longer hauls.
