Double Drop Deck Trailer vs. Lowboy Trailer

There are several differences between an double drop decktrailer and a lowboy trailer. Both are versatile trailers that are used for hauling heavy equipment and oversize loads. However, while an double drop deck detaches from the front allowing it to be used as a ramp for drivable equipment, the lowboy trailer is loaded from the rear and can’t be dropped any lower. Lowboys have an additional benefit of being able to add axles for increased weight capacity.
